Random Sample

Use the Random Sample tool to reduce the size of a segment using Guaranteed Random or Repeatable methods.

Procedure

1. Guaranteed random: Records are randomly selected and for each calculation of the query the records are different to ensure that no two random selections are exactly alike.
2. Repeatable: Random records are selected, but the exact same records will be selected on all subsequent calculations of the query to ensure that the same record set can be re-created at a later stage if necessary.

You can choose to sample using an exact count, or a selected percentage.
